Olga Breese is an American journalist, meteorologist, and sustainability professional.
Personal Life
Olga Breese was born in Detroit but she spent most of her childhood in Southern California where she said she was ‘molded.’ For her studies, she finished her high school education at Maryland. She attended Prince George’s Community College before graduating from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. In addition, Breese has two Master’s degrees from Columbia University School of Journalism and from the School of Professional Studies (in Sustainability Management).
We can absolutely say that Olga has a huge heart for animals because she adopted two dogs from Fuzzy Friends Rescue.
She came back to school in 2006. She got her Bachelor’s degree in Geosciences from Mississippi State’s Broadcast Meteorology Program. She was studying while working as a weekend reporter for KPLR-TV in St. Louis, Missouri.
Professional Career
Olga Breese’s fascination with all things about weather started when she worked as an international flight attendant for Northwest Airlines. She described those days as her “living the charmed life.” The layovers of the flight allowed her to see many countries across the world. While in flight, was consistently amazed with the sky, cloud formations, and constellations.
Formerly, she worked as a morning traffic reporter on a show on WJZ-TV. She has also worked for ABC News and WNCT-TV in Greenville, North Carolina. She has worked in many states including Washington D.C., Ohio, and Detroit. She spent almost ten years as a traffic reporter.
She joined FOX19 NOW in December 2020. She is a part of the weather team.
Breese is a member of the American Meteorological Society, the National Weather Association, the National Association of Black Journalists, and the Association of Women in Science.
She also wants to share her knowledge to the younger generation. Her teaching experience includes Broadcast Radio at Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland and Speech Communication at Prince George’s Community College in Largo, Maryland. Olga Breese is also a classroom instructor for TSA airport security screeners in the United States.
What happened to Olga Breese
Olga Breese left WXIX-TV and was replaced by Jeff Creighton in January 2022. Creighton is also a meteorologist from the same station who previously took a break and has enjoyed his second career of preparing meals for “Dream Dinners,” which sells meal kits and other ingredients to their customers.
Breese is now reporting weather in Washington D.C. according to her Facebook account.
