Jon Olsson is known for inventing many new and creative double flips which include a D-spin 720 into a flat spin 540 referred to as the DJ flip, a switch double rodeo 1080 known as the Hexo flip, a switch cork 720 to flat spin 540 known as the Tornado, and a double flat spin 900 called the Kangaroo flip.
The skier has won 9 Winter X-Games medals. He won the Rip Curl tour, the U.S. Freeskiing Open, and the Red Bull Big Air in 2003. He used his very own Kangaroo flip in the Big Air competition at the 2008 Winter X Games but he injured his knee which in turn needed surgery.
Jon has been holding his own tournament since 2005 called the Jon Olsson Invitational. He won the said competition in 2006.
