Team Kaliber was an American eSports and gaming organization. They had teams for Call of Duty and CS:GO.
History of the Team
Team Kaliber was founded in 2013 for the Call of Duty: Black Ops II season. It was funded and backed by several YouTubers, headed by Jimmy “chaosxsilencer” M. The team valued commitment, loyalty, and dedication. With these principles in mind, the players were recruited and the roster was announced with Sharp, Goonjar, Neslo, and Theory being included.
In 2013, the team made their debut at UMG Atlanta. They finished with an impressive outing, finishing in second place only losing to one team which is compLexity Gaming. However, the team was not able to repeat this performance again for the season.
The next tournament Team Kaliber joined was called MLG PAX Prime Invitational 2013, where they got 3rd place. After that tourney, the team traveled to London for Gfinity 2 where they also placed 3rd. Even though they placed well in the first competitions, they declined in placings as the season progressed. In the UMG Dallas 2013, they finished fourth even with four of the top teams missing the event and choosing to attend the MLG Fall Invitational 2013 instead. Despite the adversities, Team Kaliber decided to stick together going into the next game.
In the UMG Philadelphia 2014, the team also reached the finals but it seemed like history repeated itself once again when they lost to compLexity gaming. After the tournament, the team immediately began practicing for the Call of Duty Championship 2014: US Regional Final.
Soon after, the team underwent major restructuring with some of the core members being let go, along with the acceptance of new ones.
In the first Call of Duty X Games, Team Kaliber became the silver medallists. But even though they did well, they still struggled in the latter half of the tourney.
Team Kaliber joined the Black Ops 3 season with the same original members when they started Black Ops 2 – Sharp, Goonjar, Theory, and Neslo. They joined the first event which is the Totino’s Invitational and reached the semi-finals where they lost to Rise Nation. In the 2016 NA CWL Stage 1 Regular Season, they placed 10th. The team also attended MLG Orlando 2016.
