Personal Life

Linda was born Linda Rose Carotenuto in Jersey City, New Jersey on November 24, 1949. Her father, Albert Carotenuto, was a math and science teacher. Her mother is named Igne who is a German woman. The two met when her father was stationed in Germany as an American soldier. Her parents got divorced in 1968 due to her father’s affair.

Linda Tripp graduated from Hanover Park High School. Afterward, she worked as a secretary 

Professional Career

In 1987, Tripp started working in the Pentagon and was an employee under the George H. W. Bush administration. When Bill Clinton became president in 1993, she also worked for him.

In 1994, it was reported that senior White House aides wanted her removed from the White House. She was then transferred to Pentagon and worked as a secretary in Army Intelligence based in Fort Meade, Maryland. In Pentagon, she was given a raise of $20,000. 

While working there, Tripp met her colleague, Monica Lewinsky, and formed a strong friendship wither her. She played a major role in the Clinton–Lewinsky scandal of 1998. 

Linda and Monica have been friends for more than a year since the Clinton-Lewinsky scandal reached its final stages. Multiple times, Lewinsky personally said to Tripp that she was in a sexual relationship with Bill Clinton.

When this happened, Tripp started recording the call conversations between Lewinsky and Clinton. These recorded conversations became a piece of strong evidence in the Clinton-Lewinsky Scandal.

Monica Lewinsky stated that he did not have any relationship with Bill Clinton during the Clinton v. Jones lawsuit. later She was then exposed by Linda when she submitted their recorded conversations to the Independent Counsel, Kenneth Starr, in January 1998. Because of these tapes, Linda Tripp got immunity from prosecution and was free of all the charges against her. 

Lewinsky and Clinton appeared before a grand jury in the court. Their case was very controversial and was a media spectacle. When asked about her last words on the matter, Lewinsky stated, “I hate Linda Tripp.” 

Linda Tripp was fired from  Pentagon, on January 19, 2001. When she was fired, Linda stated the move was vindictive, but the officials said that it was just a normal procedure.

She sued the US Department of Defense and the US Department of Justice when they released data from her security employment files to the media. Tripp reached a settlement with the federal government in 2003.

She married Bruce Tripp in 1971. They had a son and a daughter, but they divorced in 1980.

Her second husband is a German architect named Dieter Raush and they have a holiday-themed store together.
