Gus Fring is a fictional character in AMC’s Breaking Bad. He is regarded as one of the most iconic villains in television history. His character is portrayed by the Chilean actor Giancarlo Esposito.

It was also hinted in the series that Fring served in the military once during his life. In the 1980s, he left Chile and moved to Mexico during the Pinochet Regime.
In the late 1980s, Gus met Maximino Arciniega, a chemist who became his partner. He put Maximino through school. They developed a high-class strain of meth and contacted Don Eladio for partnership. Feeling betrayed, Don Eladio ordered his men to shoot Max. Ever since Max’s death, he lived by the motto, “blood for blood.”

Professional Career
After some time Gus moved to the United States to expand his restaurant business – Los Pollos Hermanos. He had a business connection with Madrigal Electromotive GmbH, a German conglomerate, which he used for his meth distribution network. Gus later became a meth distributor for the Cartel, with Juan Bolsa.
In “Better Call Saul” and “Breaking Bad,” it was very evident that Gus conducted his business with much caution. He wanted people to see him as a legitimate businessman and restaurateur.
By 2008, Gus Fring’s empire was fully operational. He has also established a full working relationship with Mike Ehrmantraut, who has become his chief of security.
Gus contacted Walter White and Jesse Pinkman to work for him. Their agreement was three months of work with a salary of $7 million. However, due to Jesse’s irrational behavior, Gus didn’t trust him. Walt meets his new assistant, Gale Boetticher.
Gus’s death happened at Casa Tranquila, where a bomb gone off, as Hector’revenge to him. He saw the bomb, but he was a moment too late.
