In 1993, IDG Books Worldwide Inc. had published 26 “For Dummies” books, all focusing on tech and computers. Seven of those books were written by Dan and were a huge success. Gookin once told in an interview with Slate magazine in 2015 that he earned loads of money. There was a time when he received a royalty cheque for $250,000.
