Personal Life
Carvin Jones was born in June 1966 in Lufkin, Texas. As a child, he listened to the blues by listening to BB King records his grandfather played. When he was 11, his grandmother brought him his first guitar as he constantly borrowed from others. He stated that he will never forget that day. He grew up in a rough neighborhood and playing guitar kept him out of trouble.
When he was in high school, he started performing in gigs. He then moved to Arizona. In 1989, he moved in with his aunt and uncle, The Rev. Henry Adams and his wife Mattie, in Phoenix.
When he was in Phoenix, he was working different jobs when he had the realization that this was not what he wanted to do. He then decided to bust and Carvin Jones Band was formed. The bands performed at gigs and by 1991, they started gaining more and more fame.
Professional Career
Over the years, Carvin Jones together with his band has opened for guitar legends BB King, Santana, and Albert King. The band has performed with Joe Cocker and the Fabulous Thunderbird’s at the House of Blues 1996 Tour in Phoenix. In 1988, The Carvin Jones Band also opened for REO Speedwagon at New Year’s Eve. They have been featured on Fiesta Bowl’s New Year’s Eve Block Parties.
They also performed at various blues and music festivals including Cerdanyola Blues Festival in Barcelona, Spain, Grollo International Blues Fest in Grollo, Netherlands, Otwock Blues festival in Warsaw, Poland, International Jazz Festival in Kraljevo, Serbia, Con Alma de Blues Festival in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Sisak Blues Festival in Sisak, Croatia, and In Wires Festival in Uzice, Serbia.
The Carvin Jones Music Show is a 1/2 hour cable television show promo, which has interviews with Carvin, performance clips, gig schedules, among others. The Show aired weekly from February to March, 2000 on a number of local Arizona cable channels. The Band has also been featured on Arizona Channel 3’s morning program.
In 2018, the Carvin Jones Band had sold out tours in Canada, Spain, England, Scotland, Germany and Belgium. They also completed their first American Hard Rock Cafe tour.
