Alex Lasry was born on July 15, 1987, in New York City, United States. He was born to his parents, Marc and Cathy Lasry. His father is a billionaire, financial specialist, and mutual funds administrator.
Alex graduated from Trevor Day School and then attended the University of Pennsylvania where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science in 2009, along with the Cum laude honors. In 2014, he also got his Masters in Business Administration from the New York University Leonard Stern School of Business.
After receiving his MBA, Lasry moved to Milwaukee when his family purchased the Milwaukee Bucks.

Professional Career
After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn), Alex Lasry worked for two months with the American Israel Public Affairs Committee. He then spent four months working as an analyst with Goldman Sachs, a multinational investment company. His father was a client of the company while he was there.
From 2009 to 2012, Lasry worked in the White House during the Obama Administration. His father also donated to Obama’s 2012 presidential campaign. Alex became the Special Assistant to the Chief of Staff to Senior Advisor, and afterwards became the Deputy Counselor for Strategic Engagement to the Senior Advisor where he worked on business outreach and the Jobs Council.
In 2014, after getting his MBA, relocated to Milwaukee when their family bought the Milwaukee Bucks. He plays a huge role in the management of the team. Since joining the team, he has helped in transforming the Bucks to one of the best teams in the NBA right now.
In 2022, Alex Lasry ran to represent Wisconsin in the United States Senate. His campaign was largely self-funded with his father spending about $12 million. He later dropped out because he never eclipsed Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes in the polls. This left only Barnes as the Democratic nominee from Wisconsin.
