After graduating from Harvard, Harvey Specter worked as an assistant for New York District Attorney Cameron Dennis. He worked as an Assistant District Attorney for two years.
On the pilot episode of the series, he was promoted to the position of senior partner at Pearson Hardman in 2011, He then hired Mike Ross, a genius with a photographic memory, but did not have a law degree.
At the end of season one, the managing partner Jessica Pearson learns the truth about Mike not having a law degree. In season two, Hardman, the other managing partner, returned to the firm. They found out that Hardman embezzled funds from the company. By the end of season two, Pearson Hardman merged with a British firm, headed by Edward Darby, making the name of the company Pearson Darby.
At the start of the third season, the firm had a high-profile client, Ava Hessington. Hessington was charged with murder and Harvey was in charge of defending her. The opposing counsel on the case was his former boss, District Attorney Cameron Denis.
